Sheep and Goats

Sheep and goats experience the same emotions that humans do, are sociable, and form strong bonds with others.

Did you know that sheep can recognize specific human faces, even from images? Perhaps this isn't so surprising, since their own faces are so distinctive and expressive. They can remember 50 other sheep faces over two years.

Goats are sensitive to human facial expressions and can distinguish between positive and negative emotion-linked vocalizations. They also have impressive learning abilities and long term memories.

Unfortunately, most sheep and goats are not fortunate enough to live in a sanctuary environment. Some of the sheep are exploited for their wool. Sheep and goats are also raised for meat and/or milk under brutal conditions.

Learn more here about the contrast between the natural lives of sheep and goats and what they endure in industrial animal factories.
