Sheep and Goats

Sheep and goats experience the same emotions that humans do, are sociable, and form strong bonds with others.

Did you know that sheep can recognize specific human faces, even from images? Perhaps this isn't so surprising, since their own faces are so distinctive and expressive. They can remember 50 other sheep faces over two years. You can commune with 18 of these unique individuals at Green Acres Farm Sanctuary.

Goats are as smart and loving as dogs, according to a scientific study.  Want to meet some goats living out happy lives? You can get to know BlackBeard and Ziggy at Wildwood Farm Sanctuary. Nellie, Sparkles, Ike, Marley, Stanley, Luke, Hans, and Lars will greet you at Out to Pasture Sanctuary. At Green Acres Farm Sanctuary you can meet Buford and 20 other goats.

Unfortunately, most sheep are not fortunate enough to live in a sanctuary environment. Some of these sheep are exploited for their wool. Sheep and goats are also raised for meat and/or milk under brutal conditions.

Learn more here about the contrast between the natural lives of sheep and goats and what they endure in industrial animal factories.
