Ducks and geese are outgoing, inquisitive, and sociable. They form lifelong friendships and their lives revolve around water, where they can forage for food, bathe, explore, mate, and raise their offspring.
Unfortunately, the ducks and geese who are raised for meat on factory farms are not able to enjoy these rich lives, but instead suffer miserably. Those raised to produce foie gras endure especially horrific treatment. The lives of those used to produce down are also horrendous. The contrast between the life of a duck in nature versus that in a factory farm is heartbreaking.
